Regarding this homeowner’s weekend auction of a home, which they ran themselves and advertised through HomePoint.com:
"The highest bidder won at $131,000. I had about 175 people tour the home Sunday, 90 Saturday and got 9 bids altogether. We finished about 10:45pm last night. The bidding went 9 rounds. The high bidder and I signed the contract today at the title company. He paid $1,000 earnest money and wants to close within 10 days to take advantage of the cash discount of $3,000 I offered. I received your sign after I had already ordered banners to hang on the fence. The buyer saw the sign and banners and was determined to buy the house. Everyone who participated had a great time. Lots of people were intrigued by this selling method and want to try it. I know I'll sell my own home this way."
